A New Site!

I'm not sure how many of you from church are still checking this site periodically, but I'll not likely utilize this particular blog again. If you've visited the Resting Place site, linked to the left, I'll not likely be using that one anymore either.

I've launched a new site by the name of the old one with a new host:

A Resting Place

I'll be posting there quite often. Feel free to visit and comment frequently, since it's certainly not easy to keep in touch with you all.

Thanks for reading.

Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God

To my Church History class:

As you know, I was away this past weekend. I will also be away this weekend, and on call the next. Here's the plan for this coming Sunday morning.

For those who check this site, please visit the link below and print out a copy of "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by Jonathan Edwards. The plan will be for you to spend the first half of class reading the sermon together aloud, and the second half talking about it.

John Calvin Lecture Notes

As I said, I borrowed heavily from Sam Storms notes on John Calvin for this morning's lecture, and here are the links to those notes:

The Theology of John Calvin

Your reading for this week is The Thirty-Nine Articles, which is the official doctrinal creed of the Anglican Church which was born out of the English Reformation. As you're reading, do the following: With each article, decide whether you think the article sounds Protestant, Catholic, or both (a compromise between the two). The English reformers tried very hard for a "middle way" between Protestantism and Catholicism, and you'll be able to see it as you read.
